Ryan Gear is the founding pastor of One Church. At 38, Ryan has served in full time pastoral ministry for 14 years. He holds a BA in Religion from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a Master of Divinity degree from Ashland Theological Seminary.
Ryan is the founder of openmindedchurch.org, a growing national directory of churches willing to thoughtfully wrestle with questions and doubts. He is a regular contributor to Huffington Post, OnFaith, Beliefnet, and Convergent Books and has been featured in Real Clear Religion.
Ryan is also an initiator at Convergence U.S., a movement bringing together forward-thinking Catholics, Evangelicals, and mainline Protestants, along with ethnic and peace churches and other willing colleagues, in a growing movement-building collaborative.
Ryan is married to Hannah. They have one son and live in Chandler.
